The University of Szeged is one of Hungary's greenest educational institutions, according to the 2021 UI Green Metric World University Rankings. Apart from Loránd Eötvös University in Budapest, the University of Szeged is the only other Hungarian university listed in Jiao Tong University of Shanghai's annual list of the top 500 universities in the world.
