The University of Debrecen has attracted the most international students of any Hungarian higher education institution, owing to a diverse range of English language degree programs combined with a high-quality education. Nearly 6000 international students attend the university. UD's central library is the second largest in the country, with six million volumes. At the university sports centre, students can choose from over 20 different courses. The American Corner of Debrecen is a cultural and informational resource centre founded by the US Embassy, the City Council of Debrecen, and the University of Debrecen to foster US-Hungarian relations.
